FBI Names Mark Morgan Special Agent in Charge of FBI's El Paso Division

Federal Bureau of Investigations director Robert Mueller appointed Mark Morgan as special agent in charge of the El Paso Division, FBI announced in a news release Monday.

Previously, he served as chief of the Strategic Information and Operations Center, Critical Incident Response Group, since 2010.

Morgan first became a special agent in 1996 in the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office, where he was a member of the Eurasian Organized Crime Task Force, the crisis response squad and the SWAT team. He became a supervisory special agent in 2002.

In 2005, Morgan supervised an FBI-led Hispanic gang task force and oversaw the critical incident response squad.

Morgan also served as the assistant section chief of the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime Branch and managed the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Units and the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program.
Morgan has a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Central Missouri State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
