The officer was being chased for smuggling marijuana.
The deportation officer was under investigation for months. The agency had been tipped off one of their own was taking part in drug smuggling -- so they set him up in a sting operation.
The chase came to an end in Sacaton when the vehicle rolled.
The officer's name and photo were not made available. More details of this case are expected to come out on Wednesday.
Spokesman Vincent M. Picard released this statement: "ICE is cooperating with federal and state authorities in this matter. We hold our officers and agents to the highest levels of responsibility and are committed to supporting the agencies investigating this incident."
