Ajo Station agents working in the West Desert responded to the Barry Goldwater Bombing Range security office where two suspected illegal aliens were being held. During questioning, the two Mexican males, 22 and 41, admitted to entering the United States illegally. Security officers also turned over five cylinders (Photos available) wrapped in electrical tape found near the individuals. The substance in the packages, nearly three pounds, tested positive for heroin. The narcotics were seized and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The subjects will face federal prosecution.

Cooperation between the Border Patrol and our partner agencies make it difficult for transnational criminal organizations to operate with impunity. As a result, the Tucson Sector has been effective in combating smuggling organizations and their ability to transport contraband throughout the United States.

Customs and Border Protection welcomes assistance from the community. Citizens can report suspicious activity to the Border Patrol by calling (877) 872-7435 toll free. All calls will be answered and remain anonymous.
