LOS ANGELES – The FBI says it’s shut down a network that created fake Social Security cards and driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants.

A federal grand jury indictment unsealed Thursday in Los Angeles alleges that the operation was run by 45-year-old Alejandro Serrano in California, Illinois and Texas.

Federal grand jury indictments unsealed Thursday allege Serrano is behind several false document manufacturing networks in the MacArthur Park area of Los Angeles and elsewhere.

The Los Angeles FBI office said in a news release Friday that more than 300 federal and local law enforcement officers executed dozens of arrest and search warrants on Thursday in Los Angeles and Riverside counties, Northern California, Illinois and Texas.
