Jesus Barrientes Rodriguez Believed To Be Captain Of Texas Mexican Mafia
McALLEN, Texas -- FBI agents say a man arrested last week during a South Texas drug bust is believed to be a ranking captain who oversees the Texas Mexican Mafia's operations throughout the Rio Grande Valley and is primary supplier for black tar heroin throughout Texas.Jesus Barrientes Rodriguez, 46, of Pharr, was arrested Friday as part of an investigation where authorities earlier last week seized more than three pounds of the drug and arrested three men at a supermarket in Alamo.A federal criminal complaint reviewed Tuesday by The Monitor, of McAllen, showed Barrientes was arrested after an FBI informant bought several ounces of black tar heroin from him at his home since last September.Barrientes' wife also was arrested. They remain in custody pending a detention hearing later this week.
