More than $2 million worth of that was seized Friday by agents assigned to the Weslaco Station in three separate incidents, the most significant of which occurred that night when agents saw a suspicious vehicle traveling south toward the Rio Grande. Smugglers quickly loaded the vehicle with bundles of marijuana near the river’s edge and then drove north with the vehicle’s headlights turned off. The agents lost sight of the vehicle, but, as they were searching the area, they found an abandoned minivan loaded with more than 1,000 pounds of narcotics.
