CBP U.S Border Patrol in Southern California Seize More Than 1,100 lbs Of Marijuana


Calexico, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector arrested three men and seized more than 1,180 pounds of marijuana after conducting two separate vehicle stops on December 19th.

In total, over $947,000 worth of marijuana was seized.
The arrests occurred at approximately 8 p.m., after Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico station observed suspicious activity near the Calexico Wal-Mart. Two vehicles were subsequently pulled over by Border Patrol agents with the assistance of the Calexico Police Department. As a result, 16 cellophane wrapped packages of marijuana were discovered.


After interviewing the suspects, agents located an additional 89 cellophane wrapped packages of marijuana in a nearby storage unit. In total, over $947,000 worth of marijuana was seized. The three men arrested were identified as U.S. citizens, ages 19, 21 and 28. All suspects were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the vehicles and narcotics.
